Still have the same problem, guess i just have to watch out for duplicates in the tvguide, that is no real problem.

1) Retrieve show listings (and just hold in memory)
2) Delete all pending recordings that are part of a season recording (they'll be recreated at later in the update process)
3) Delete all show listing from the database that arent referenced by a pending recording
4) Save new show listings to database
5) Check for any season recordings that need to be scheduled.

This logic should take care of the situation that your describe.

Just to make sure:
wrt 3) does this mean that a show that is scheduled to be recorded is not deleted? This would exactly be the problem isn't it

I think this is related to the trouble I had in another post with the "errorConfusedpecified cast is invalid"

I had set the pvr to record the season of Pinks. I noticed that I had 12 recordings(same episode) after the first week? I looked throught the guide and noticed Speed channel is playing the same episode 3 to 4 times a day at various times. I figured I must have selected "all episodes this channel" instead of "all episodes, this channel, this timeslot" I deleted the episodes through the menu , then delected the recurring recording under recordings and noticed i had the recurring recording showing up twice? I deleted both , then added the proper recurring recording(all ep,this ch, this timeslot)

Later on I went to view a show and could not access Recordings and recieved the message "errorConfusedpecified cast is invalid"

After a complete rebuild everything is working , but if I replace the gbpvr.mdb file with the original (error msg one)I get the same error. Replace it back to the new one and all is good again. So the gbpvr.mdb is messed up , but I didn't have Access installed and probably wouldn't know what to look for if I did.

Correct, but only for non-reoccuring recordings. See (2).

One-off recordings are known to have this problem with guide changes. The very first recording in a season recording also suffers from this problems - subsequent episodes do not.

Thanks a lot Sub, I think I understand now, it's complicated.

I was wondering if there has been a definitive resolution to this issue of "duplicate season recordings".

A forum search shows posts back to 2004, but I (for the first time I might add) recently came across this problem, by accident. They are exactly the same time slots (accidentally chose it twice during selecting recordings), so I don't think it is the issue sub describes above about the first one having moved.

The problem is that I can't delete either of them. And unlike the others season recordings, there is no day shown for the next one to record, although the guide shows it should be Tuesday.

My only plugins are MVPTrayIcon and the XRecord Suite for 97.07.

Any ideas?

Can you delete them in the GB-PVR recordings screen?

Yes. (I can delete them, but I used the Xrecord Screen within GBPVR, rather than the native Recordings Screen). I wonder why I can do it there, but not from the Webadmin? Should I pose this Q to the EWA thread instead?

Yes, its probably best to ask the author of Xrecord and also post in the EWA, since I dont use these myself. The question may ultimately come back to me, but at least the respective authors can do the leg work and get familar with the problem before deciding if its something I need to fix or not.

Sub - hope you din;t mind me resurrecting this issue.

I scheduled a one-off recording of (Sinatra's) Suddenly. The schedule changed by 5mins and I now see the overlapping in the guide.

There are 2 entries in the PROGRAMME table with the different times.

Did you mean in your response above that it is not possible for gbpvr to detect this rescheduling and modify the pending recording with the new time?

cheers
