I discovered that if you disable the 'Interact with Desktop' in the Recording Service, so that the MediaMVP server won't interfere with the desktop, HIP won't be able to control a STB with HipSend.
I looking at a solution to that, possibly from Hips Author (again!)
My symptoms were: everything was fine, but I kept missing shows. The channels weren't changing...
For the time being, I'm allowing the Recording service to interact with the desktop, in the config, setting the media servers to 0, and using the Hauppauge media software to watch my programs across the network...
