This is what I found in RecServiceexe.log:

That's because you deleted the whole directory.....GBPVR detected that it was missing files and re-installed the EWA that comes with GBPVR......thus overlaying build 38.

Just unzip build 38 into the web directory....that should be it.

I extracted build 38 straight over 36(i think that's which one i had), and i get an error message now from my main computer (which has the gbpvr web interface bookmarked, so i know i didn't mistype it). I tried extracting my old web admin over 38, but no luck...whatever i did simply broke it. Any suggestions?

......just thinking, i'm running on gbpvr 96.12 on .net1.1, do these newer builds of enhanced-web admin need .net 2.0?

Yep....build 35 is the last .Net 1.1 build. Build 36 (comes with GBPVR 97.7) requires .Net 2.0 and GBPVR 97.7 or later.

You can still get build 35 off of the wiki.

I had serious issues with 97.7, so i went back to 96.12 till everything was worked out a little better.....so your telling me pretty much everything(including plugins) from this point on is going to require me to go to the new .net 2.0 builds?

You might want to make a change to the wiki then. There it still says t delete your web-dir.Smile

Yes...that is the case......I know a lot of the plugins now have .Net 2.0 versions available for GBPVR 97.7.

Thanks....I "tweaked" the directions....I belive you can remove everything except for the bin directory and not kick off the auto reinstall.
  • Rename or Delete the old gbpvr\web folder (accept for the bin directory…removing this will cause GBPVR to reinstall the default Web Admin)

Thank you, for me EWA is one of the best GBPVR-plugins.

I'll take this opportunity to ask a few other questions:

1 - Are you still working on the "visualisation" of manual recordings in the guide?
2 - I asked this some time ago: would it be possible to leave the top of the guide-page in place and only scroll the guide-info, so you would always have the buttons etc available. A side effekt to this could be that when you scroll horizontally, you don't go back tothe top of the page every time. This peculiarity makes it hard to scroll a channel horizontally except for the channels on top of the list.
3 - I've seen a question about this before: with the use of the new database the descriptions can be very long on the screen, it would be nice to have a way to shorten them on the screen but be able to show the long version, perhaps by clicking on them to get a new window with the long info, or through a popup.

Thanks a lot for your time, please don't considder this an attempt to hurry you up, I'm just curious. Take your time, it's already a great produkt!

Hans

Can somebody confirm the manual recordings option is working OK with 97.7 (access db) & b38 please? I schedule one through the web interface and it does not appear in "manage recordings" in either the web or GBPVR interface. There is nothing in the logs and before I go checking other things I'd like confirmation the problem is likely to be with me. It does seem to change the timestamp on the GBPVR db but nothing else.
Thanks.

I have not forgotten about this...still thinking of a way to visually and esthetically show this....

Before this gets added to the list....do you know the Timeline Repeat setting in the config redisplays the top bar(time periods and forward backward buttons) after whatever the number is set to is displayed in the guide.....I think the default is 25.....you could set it to like 10 and then you would see it every 10 lines.

Turn off the description box in the config...this will prevent the description from displaying in the Guide....but when you click on the show the Detail pop-up always shows the description.
