you can get any decent combo for 200. online, frys, anywhere. stick with amd. more bang for the buck.

remember the new boards take the extra 4pin connector for power so you might need a new power supply..... and eventually you'll want to get an SATA harddrive.

new motherboards take new memory. keep that in mind too. ddr400 (pc 3200ish)

http://www.pricewatch.com will have some decent prices if you want to see whats available. dont go for the absolute cheapest unknown brand type though.

i had an amd 3000 x64 that ran gbpvr just fine. then i bought the 3800 x2 x64 chip which just made things a whole lot snappier. both on an msi k8n neo2 platinum board.
