Thanks, still can't get it to work and I've run out of ideas. I might try changing the db but that then breaks renamerecordings which I need. Guess I can still set any manual recordings via VNC as I have been doing before. Rest of the web interface works great though - really nice work.

Just to check....have you tried setting the manual recording for sometime in the future...perhaps a day or so....

Let me know.

Yes, just tried again. Set for 4 days in advance in middle of night (no possible clash with existing recording) and nothing created. It touches the gbpvr.db but nothing else (doublechecked via GBPVR GUI). The only other oddity I've ever had with EWA (which might be connected) was needing to copy redrat.dll (see earlier post ref redrat3) into the web bin directory to get the web interface to display correctly.
I installed correctly (delete all but bin directory) and have no other plugins except for SlimmGBPVR which is not started as I just use it for the CLI querying of the db. I've also tried on local machine using loopback with IE to try to eliminate any network complications.
Any help appreciated but this is only really an annoyance, not a problem, to me - especially if it is only me affected. Thanks again for a really useful utility.

Before this gets added to the list....do you know the Timeline Repeat setting in the config redisplays the top bar(time periods and forward backward buttons) after whatever the number is set to is displayed in the guide.....I think the default is 25.....you could set it to like 10 and then you would see it every 10 lines.

Yes I know this, and it helps, but you still go back to the top of the page/list every time you click to go left or right

Turn off the description box in the config...this will prevent the description from displaying in the Guide....but when you click on the show the Detail pop-up always shows the description.

This is good, I hadn't realised that. Now I remember a post from someone who asked for sidebars if the descriptions were too long. I second thatSmile

Sidebars....hmmm....something to think about but I don't think that is any more effective than what is available today.

The problem now is that when you have a too long description, the buttons at the bottom of the page don't show up. Whe the txt could be scrolled it would solve that problem I think.

I'm not sure i undestand the problem with the long descriptions, but i just want to chime in and say i would not be a fan of putting scroll bars for each description... is that what the suggestion is?

my point is that this is a *web* interface, not a program. let it be what it is...

I will try to xplain: I'm totally fine with turning off description in ewa-config, gives you a nice view of a lot of channels. But sometimes when I click on it the description is too long:

I hope this cleared it up.

As the saying goes.....a picture is worth a thousand words....I thought you were looking to have scroll bars on the Guide......you are looking to have scroll bars on the Details page.

You can fix this right now with no need to build the website....

open the file ....gbpvr\web\public\popup.js

simply change the scrollbars=no to scrollbars=yes on the editpop routine(there are several in the file....this is the one that is used to launch the Details page).
Code:
function EditPop(mypage, myname) {
    var winl = (screen.width - 500) / 2;
    var wint = (screen.height - 625) / 2;
    var winprops = 'height=625,width=500,top='+wint+',left='+winl+',toolbar=no,menubar=no,location=no,[B]scrollbars=[COLOR=Red]yes[/COLOR][/B],resizable=no';
    //if win exists, move the window
    if (win && !win.closed) win.close();

    win = window.open(mypage, myname, winprops);
    if (parseInt(navigator.appVersion) >= 4) {
        win.window.focus();
        if (!win.opener)
            win.opener = self;
    }
}

You may need to clear your browser cache(including off-line content)....IE seems to hang on to stuff.

One thing I noticed is that IE 7 displays a scrollbar whether you need it or not (if you don't need to scroll the scroll bar is not enabled....but you can see it).

Firefox on the other hand appears to only display it when you need it.
