As far as you know does SoftwareRecorder .v27 solved the problem related to HVR-1100?
I've tried some configs with the same results as previous SoftwareRecorder releases. It seems no selectable audio captures are on the list of the available. The one I have is "Hauppauge WinTV 88x Audio Capture" (@device:pnp:\\?\pci#ven_14f1&dev_8811&subsys_94020070&rev_05#3&61aaa01&0&99#{65e8773d-8f56-11d0-a3b9-00a0c9223196}\{5ea9c068-1dfe-41c5-a2de-00a0c9f21fc7}) It seems still no way out, right? I planned deeper tries in next few days (now my wife is recording...shh!). I'll post all logs then. One more question: while selecting the plugin in the Config-> Capture Sources appears as "WDM Recording Plugin (broken plugin loading pass-throug)". Is this right?

bigbus01: The logs look fine. I do notice that you're not using Preview mode though, is there any good reason for this?
dfdario: no one has reported anything on HVR-1100's. Can you send screenshots ang logs of what you mean - depending on the capture card, you might not have options in the drop down. Screenshot would help on this one - only of the WDM configure window please. The (broken plugin loading pass-through) is due to the fact that the plugin loading code searchs for IRecordingSource's and not IRecordingSourceConfiguration. It then uses the object as if it was a IRecordingSourceConfiguration! So basically the plugin works because I've put in a work around. When sub fixes the plugin loading code (by adding the word "Configuration" twice in the plugin detection code - the line above the line that generates the "Found recording source plugin" log entry) you should see a new option without the pass-through warning, when that happens I can remove the work around. (This is how the RecorderTest works at the moment). I've asked sub to fix this before, but I think he was very busy at the time. [Edit: I've re-asked sub, we shall see what happens] [Update: sub has changed this for the next release, so you should have both options when that rolls out!]

Normanr,
I reinstalled 97.7 again and setup my card and turned on Preview. It works fine until I manage my GBPVR Recording Services so that I can use networked shared drives (for music, videos, and photos). As soon as I setup to the GBPVR Recording Services to my active logged on account, then on the MVP I get "No Tuners are available..." and the only choice I have is "Don't Watch TV Program". It didn't have anything to do with the other plugins I installed as I thought was the problem initially. I don't know what else to do with it. Has anyone else had this problem? Thanks, Bigbus

What do you mean by "manage my GBPVR Recording Services so that I can use networked shared drives"? and "setup to the GBPVR Recording Services to my active logged on account"?
Have you tried updating your drivers?

Big thanks to normanr and everyone else who helped me out! I got it working tonight, and I LOVE IT!!!
Thank you all, I am going to keep playing with GB-PVR and hopefully be able to put something back into the forums for all that I have gotten out of them. Normanr, I can confirm that the ATI TV Wonder PRO does work with your plugin. I seem to have a very slight delay in the video to audio. I.E. lips don't match mouths, it is very slight, almost not noticible. Any easy way to start tracking that down? Thanks! Do you think I'd better use the RecordingTest prog instead of configuring back and forth GBPVR? What I've seen up to now is that there are non substantial modifications even if I modify the configuration direclty in the Recording...xml (I don't remember the right name because I'm at work now). Thanks again for the support.

You can use the RecorderTest, it should certainly speed up testing (it uses the same interfaces as GB-PVR does). You might find that when migrate to GB-PVR the source's ID changes (the testing tool assumes 1 on load - but you can change it easily because it's in a textbox). If that happens you can always just change the ID in the xml file.

Normanr,
If after I install GBPVR I don't: Right click on "My Computer", click on "Manage", click on "Services", click on "GBPVR Recording Services", then "Logon" tab and set for active account (as stated on the Hauppauge web pages for using network shared drives on an MVP) then I cannot see my shared network drives. If I don't do this, then all of my media (pictures, music, and videos) can not be seen on the MVP. This is also in the GBPVR manuals. No one else has to do this? Is there another way to do this? When I go through this process, then I lose the tuner (it can't be found). Bigbus

Normanr,
Do you think this might be a question for Sub since it seems to be an issue with GBPVR Recording Services? The problem is that I have media distributed on several computers on my network, not just on the GBPVR server machine. Do you know of any better way to get access to the shared folders without managing the services? Mapping drives to the server machine doesn't work either. Bigbus |
