I have a Zire 71 running Palm OS5. I want to use the transcode feature of GBPVR to convert recorded shows so they are playable on the Palm.

Quote:<Conversion name="Video Ipod" cmd="-y -i {SOURCE_FILE} -title {TITLE_SUBTITLE} -f mp4 -vcodec mpeg4 -s 320x240 -r 15 {DEST_FILE}" targetExtension=".mp4" />
These variables in config.xml seem to be the items to change (esp the screen size-320x240), but what do they all mean? What are some good settings to use?

I plan to use MMPlayer to play back the video files on the Palm. I only have a 512mb SD to store these files on so post converted file sizes should be below this.

These are the command line parameters for ffmpeg. You can find documentation on these and other ffmpeg parameters at http://ffmpeg.sourceforge.net

Have tried transocding a few shows to avi format (divx) and all have suffered from audio/video sync problems.

Suggestions?

Not really. It could be either the transcoding or playback. Do the avi files seem out of sync everywhere (PC and Zire 71)?

I suspect Transcoding, as out of sync on the Zire and both machines in my sig.

Trying some alternative methods for getting video on the palm I found on the Brighthand forums.

Thanks for the replies sub Smile
