for the past few version of EWA i have been noticing that i cannot do certain things with my preferred web browser (opera). at first it was just doing an episode search, but with the latest incarnation i don't seem to be able to pick a new date/time in the TVguide grid. when doing a search for instance, i type in the search, hit "submit", there is a short wait period, then i get this error:

Quote:Connection closed by remote server

You tried to access the address http://localhost:7647/gbpvr/Search.aspx, which is currently unavailable. Please make sure that the Web address (URL) is correctly spelled and punctuated, then try reloading the page.
the process works fine with IE. any reason for this?

Yep....your not using IE or Firefox.... Wink

Actually I have no idea.......we test and develop for IE and Firefox......dealing with the two main browsers to ensure consistency is very time consuming in itself.....

As for it recently starting build 36 (comes with GBPVR 97.7) and builds 27 and 28 are all .Net 2.0 based and the web server is CASINI running .Net 2.0 as well.....so there are several new variables in the last few releases....

A request for the manual record:

In the gbpvr gui, when you add a manual recording, you have the ability to configure the filename prefix, so you can make a customized name for the recording. That would be a great addition to this feature on the EWA.

Sounds like a good idea....I'll add it to the list on the wiki to keep track.

I've just started using the "channel icon" option and have found that I cannot display the icons for the "+1" channels I have in my EPG (I get a broken picture link). It seems to copy them from the channel logos directory where they work fine for the TV Guide. Some have a space in but ones like "sci-fi+1.jpg" do not display. I'm on the latest build. Anybody else seen this?

Noticed this error message in the log. It seems that it can't cope with a channel logo filename with a "+" in it.

04/06/2006 08:39:41.546 ERROR [9] System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not find file 'C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\media\ChannelLogos\Sci-Fi 1.jpg'.
(the filename should be "Sci-Fi+1.jpg")

P.S. Love the latest build. It fixed my problem with not being able to set manual recordings.
