Hi,
I have just installed gbpvr and am having a few issues. My Live TV will freeze up randomly, requiring a complete hard reboot. Sometimes it happens after a few minutes, sometimes 20 minutes. I have a hauppauge pvr 150 and nvidia purevideo decoder with geforce 6200 gc.

I have tried all the vmr9,7, overlay options. Also tried turning on and off the FFDSHOW and the livepreview mode on and off.

I installed beyondtv previously, and had the same freezing issues. I uninstalled beyondtv.

I attached the log files if anyone needs to see them. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

That sounds like some sort of driver problem or conflict. Maybe try moving the device to a different PCI slot and make sure you install the newest Hauppauge drivers?

I had this same problem when using the pure video decoders. I had ran the system for awhile using intervideo without problems and decided to give pure video a try. It would lock up the machine with 100% cpu most of the time when the program would change(ex same channel but different series). A couple of times it would lock p in the middle of a program. I am using a 150MCE, Nvidia 6200TC. I have never seen this problem while using intervideo codecs.

Ok, well I suppose I will try both of those ideas. Maybe I'll try the intervideo first, since it is easier... I imagine there's plenty of people that are using purevideo decoder without problems?

My 2 cents worth:

1) Is it heat dissipation related? Is your video card getting to hot, or any other components.

2) Completely uninstall FFDShow. It has very high Directshow 'merit' and can override your selected decoders and is prone to these sort of problems.

I think you might be right, maybe something is overheating. I opened up the case and let it run and it ran for over an hour and no problem. Then i closed it up and it froze within 15 minutes. It's definitely not the graphics card, if the temp sensor is correct, but maybe the hauppauge pvr150 card? it doesnt see much air flow. I'm still not sure if this is the problem, but I'll try and get a fan running across it and see if it runs indefinitely.
