I have noticed some interesting interactions that happen when changing the selections for "use short skip instead of FF/RW" and the audio renderer selections.
I am using the Cyberlink codecs for video and audio decoders, and the directsound for audio renderer. (the cyberlink renderer crashes gbpvr.exe).
GB-PVR v0.97.9 with an ATI Theater 550 Pro. XP Pro SP2
What I noticed in trying different renderer selections, was that at least two of them will affect the wave volume level in my system in an odd way.
When I have "use short skip instead of FF/RW" turned off and use ff while playing, the audio goes away, and when I return to normal playing, the audio is still gone.
This doesn't happen when "use short skip instead of FF/RW" is checked with any audio renderer selection, although some selections seem to sync audio and video more quickly (and sometimes at all) than others.
Now, here's the odd part: I discovered this because I thought I had lost audio completely after some of my experimentation. I even rebooted a couple of times and still no audio.
What finally got it back for me, was sliding the windows volume control for wave level down and back up. I tested this by leaving the windows volume controls open while running gbpvr.exe and FFing with the problem renderer selections.
The windows main volume slider reacts to my remote commands, the wave slider will not change, and I can have no audio until I slide the wave control down and back up. Go figure.
Thought you might want to know. Logs uploaded.
Thanks.
