I reported this earlier in this thread. Though it probably does not help you, I saw this with build 39 but upgrading to build 40 fixed it for me.

There should be no gbweb.dll file with EWA build 36 and later.....if you have a gbweb.dll file in your bin directory get rid of it.

When you access the EWA you should use a little more than just http://host:port to access.....it should always be http://host:port/gbweb/page.aspx....I always include guide.aspx or manage.aspx as the page.

I'm thinking it may be a style.css sheet that I've been working on (as no crash since I stoppped playing)
Can a faulty style.css stop the service?

pantson....as I mentioned earlier.....there were issues with Video Archiver that should be fixed in the latest release.

I have just started using the web admin feature but for some reason i can not change the username or password on the misc tab in gbpvrs config. It just keeps going back to the old username & password.

I am using 0.97.9 version of gbpvr with the version of web admin the gets installed with it.

Cheers Jase

That functionality is in native GBPVR....you'll need to post in the regular support form rather than here....since I am not familiar with how that works within GBPVR.

Just a simple thought....are you checking the check box on the misc tab to enable the feature?

I installed it anyhows.... that wasn't a good idea ;-) It didn't work at all after.

After reinstalling the app and web interface (not using my own style.css file), the GBpvrRecordingService randomly dies when I use the web interface.

I do have the script (every 15 mins) that restarts the above service. That helps me out at the mo.

I have now witnessed the random death.....not sure what is causing this....EWA or GBPVR itself......there is an error that appears in the system event log. There is nothing in the web log or GBPVR log to indicate what could be occuring.

One interesting note is that the gbpvr.exe logs on my machine have a gap in the times that are logged....meaning....the gbpvr.exe-1.log has an ending time of 6/16/2006 @ 6:04 a.m. the first entry in my gbpvr.exe.log is 6/17/2006 @ 2:45 a.m. which corresponds to the time that I had the entry in my system event.

The roughly 20 hour gap in time from the one log to the other is suspicious to me.

Are you seeing anything like this on your machine? Any weird entries in your event logs (system or app)?

System Event (no help here):
The description for Event ID ( 0 ) in Source ( .NET Runtime ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer.
