Pegging out CPU @ 100% 97.9

I'd really be interested to know if you temporarily remove comskip.exe, does the problem go away?

I posted yesterday, but I was having a hard time with the site.

Anyway, removed comskip (through the config app, not the directory), and had same results.

comskip.exe never showed up in the process tree in Task manager, it was always gbpvrrecordingservice.exe

Anyway, here are logs from that.

I'll try removing the executable alltogether from the directory today.

I notice a few of you logs seem to suspiciously end when a message from the Actisys IR200L.

It would be worth setting your channel changer to 'none' temporarily, then do a couple of test recordings to see if this is the cause.

That was it, set the changer to none, and it works like a champ. Put it back to IR200L, CPU gets pegged.

I had the IR200L directly on COM1 (A real serial port on my motherboard), I hadn't done that before (the previous system I had GBPVR on was without a Physical com port), I'd used a USB to DB-9 cable, so I tried that, but same results, 99% CPU.

Looks like we know what the issue is, what is the next step, I have DirecTV, so I need the IR200L. I've used the IR200L on previous versions without issue.

I'm not really sure why you'd be seeing this. I'm using an IR200L on main "production" machine without any problem.

I'll think about it some more.

Hi, I just recently had this problem also. I bought a PVR-150MCE card and IR200L blaster. My first recording, as I was remarking at how pretty it looked, after it was done my CPU also pegged out to 100%. It finally let up after I killed the gbpvr process.

Since we werent making too much headway, I removed and re-installed GBPVR, and the problems seem to have been resolved.

I guess I'll chalk it up to something having gone awry during the install process the first time.

I also used a freshly-downloaded version of the installer (though I doubt there is any difference), just trying to eliminate all variables.

The CPU stays at 100% even after recording is done.

I do have comskip, but that dosen't seem to be in the process tree, just GBPVRrecordingservice, gbpvr, and gbpvrtray.

Recently I noticed some of my recorded files were stuttering (not just during playback, but it's actually recorded as stuttering). This never happened before, I've only noticed this with 97.9. Before, even when the computer was recording or if i was transferring files...playback would never be affected and the recording would never be affected. Now the computer feels sluggish and slow.

In task manager, I notice that GBPVRRecordingService is at 100% and using 100megs of memory. But no recordings were scheduled. I do have comskip but it was not running.

Any ideas?
