My Nvidia card card is being RMA'ed so I'm unable to try these drivers out.

According to the 91.31 release notes, they have improved the de-interlacing algorithm.

However I have found all their drivers to be very flakey, so I wouldn't be surprised if people experience problems with these drivers.

Many GeForce 6 Series Users have Problems with 3D Applications now; they're missing 2D-Textures from their games... o.O

The Controlpanel itself has a bug too: Even if you don't have a SLi System, you'll get the SLi Tray-Icon which is annoying you with something like "SLi not activated".

To DxVA and VideoAcelleration itself: Most users now have 200% more CPU Usage while watching TV or DVD then with prior drivers.

I recommended the old 81.98 WHQL not just 4 fun; J. Neuschaefer himself (PR Manager of NVIDIA) told me to use this version for Multimedia Purposes; all following drivers are mostly game-optimized and has support for new Graphiccards like the GeForce 7950 GX2.

PS: I tried to install this ForceWare WHQL Version on my ASUS A8N-VM CSM: While installation attempt, my System reboots! It's a nice "WHQL"-One... -.-

I'll stay with my proved and fast and good 81.98 WHQL; never touch a running System ^^

You know, I've always wondered about whether or not updating drivers really helps anything at all. Looks like I will skip this one.

Uh, a long time ago i did it same way. New NVIDIA Driver? Installed... *joy* Bugs resolved.

But since the last two years, i think that there are more bugs after every release, then before.

You only need to read the manual for this Version. Many unresolved bugs listed there, are inside since... *think* more than one, or two years?

When you install these, you need to check if anything they do or fix has anything to do w/ your model. The last 2-3 or more almost exclusively help the 7000+ series. If you have a 5000 series, most the time, unless you have a problem, just stay w/ what works.

Something interesting in the release notes I noticed that worked for me on page 9: ftp://download.nvidia.com/Windows/91.31/...s_WHQL.pdf

This registry key fixed a DVE reverse gray ramps calibration problem I was having under vmr9 with a DVI connected AE500 projector.

HKey_Local_Machine\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Video\
{GUID}\0000

Adding a Dword entry for VMRCCCSStatus set to 0x1 fixed this for me.

Also noticing about 20% lower cpu on a freinds 6200AGP card. This was also on combination with sub's new patched nativeutilities.dll that uses yuv mixing. That alone is supposed to reduce memory bandwith consumption, see here http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/defaul...ngmode.asp

These drivers didn't seem to make that much difference to cpu usage on my 7600GT though.

BTW using purevideo version 1.02.196.

20% Lower CPU usage? Wow. I have that video chip in my PVR. That sort of performance improvement would be nice considering how "underpowered" my CPU is.

LOL... i can only laugh about NVIDIA...; the OFFICIAL 91.31 is a WHQL Driver... but buggy without endings.

The new 91.33 is much more stable and bugfree, but called a BETA.

Yeah, that's "The Way It Meant To Be Played" *smile*
