The 97.13 release seems to be going so well that apart from the normal "How do I.." posts from newcomers to GBPPVR and a few odd quirks, the density of postings seem to have tailed off.

So in my musings on this observation I wondered if sub kept a post-O-meter with the release dates marked on it? Of course the data would probably be skewed by the growing impetus behind GBPVR and PVR s/w in general, and by seasonal fluctuations, but (for me) at least, it would be interesting to see the distribution. Can you tell I'm bored with work today...

Yeah, there is usually a dip in posts about three or four weeks after a release. Its not much variance, only about about 10%.

US Saturday/Sunday (NZ Sunday/Monday) are the least busiest days of the week.

Unfortunately you're in the worst timezone for watching posts getting created. Most of the posts seem to appear between about midnight and lunch time NZ time. NZ afternoons are always a bit slow on the forums, so a good time for me to get on with a bit of development.

I've attached a map showing where abouts around the world the users are centered incase you're interested.

thought it would be way more spread out than that, well not so empty in some places.

Cheers sub, interesting stuff. The distribution really is US/UK/NorthernEurope-centric isn't it. Makes me feel like a positively isolated blob at the bottom of that large green expanse. So what's the master-plan, how do you intend to saturate those empty green bits :-)

I mean come on Alaska, get with the program :-) ... Russia? Turn off the heaters boys, and snuggle up with your PVR and a bottle of Vodka. btw I thought one of the EWA developers was South Africa-based. Is there a BIGGER map?

From memory, NZ afternoons are always a bit slow full stop.... LOL

LOL, it's not like I'm sitting here waiting for a post to emerge so I can go "goody goody I can answer that one ..."

There, I feel so much better now. I might even go and do a little real work.

Cheers

That map only represents the areas we had visitors from in the last 24 hours. South Africa and Alaska do make an appearance some days.
