Hey guys,

I have regular analog cable broadcast in 4:3. My video card, TV, etc. are all 16:9 aspect ratio. My current config of GBPVR "stretches" the 4:3 to fit my 16:9 display. That's all great.

When I get a broadcast in 4:3 that is letterboxed from the cable company, I would like to be able to make it full screen without the "Letterbox bars" on the top & bottom. Is this possible?

(I've tried toggling through the modes w/ F7 - no luck)

If you using the blue skin, since it shows the aspect ratio names, press F7 until you get to the "Remove LetterBox" aspect ratio. This will cut the black bars from the top and bottom of the screen giving you a 16:9 picture.

This "Remove LetterBox" aspect ratio is only available with VMR not Overlay.

Once again, thank you Sub.

This sounds perfectly logical as I have been using Overlay Manager. My video gets quite "Jerky" with any OSD when using VMRx. I'm playing with it a little on my own, but can you offer any tuning options that will help video play more smoothly while using VMR? .. other than "Get a real processor." =D

There is lots of posts already discussing this type of stuff. It probably involves a new video card though.
