Hi,

I'm n00b around here and also n00b in gbpvr

I have a dell veriton pIV 2.0 GHz with 384 MB of RAM and a primary drive of 40GB and a secondary HDD of 80GB (intended for tv-records)
The pc has also a wintv-go-fm pci tv-tuner card.
As OS, it has windows xp mce 2005

Actually it's my gfriend's pc
She wanted an application that could easily record tv-shows and stuff
First i tried to install it with winxp mce, but then i noticed the tv-tuner isn't supported by mce.

So i went back on the net and came to this forum.
I installed a mpeg-encoder and downloaded gbpvr and the wdm-recording plugin.

The install-procedure said that i had to copy everything that was in the gbpvr folder to my gbpvr folder on my hdd.
I did this and then i wanted to add the card (as wdm recorder) in the gbpvr-config.

But i couldn't select my recording source. there were still three options (direct recording, bda-recording and 70052 or something like that) but none of these options showed my hauppauge wintv-go or a wdm-recording plugin.

Then i noticed a program testrecorder in the gbpvr-folder.
After launching this program, i saw a wdm-recording option in this program.
But in the gbpvr config, i didn't see a wdm-recording option anywhere.

thanks in advance and greetings from belgium

Well, I got my problem with ATI HDTV Wondercard to work. The solution, uninstall GBPVR, re-install GBPVR, and then set it up the exact way that I had it. Works now watching and recording with sound and video.

I wish I had just bought a happaugue PVR150, that's for sure.

I had (still have) this problem too. I installed the latest version of GBPVR, .NET 2, and the latest Software Recorder plugin. When I went to GBPVR Config the Software Recorder plugin was not available. I also found the testrecorder executable, ran it, configured for my system and got it working. Went back to GBPVR config and it still wouldn't show up. I eventually found an older version of GBPVR and used the older compatible Software Recorder.

BUT I wanted to try some of the newer plugins like XRecord, but those plugins want you on GBPVR 97 or above. I tried to download the fix from rowle1jt and sub (previous page):

http://forums.gbpvr.com/showpost.php?p=1...ostcount=4

The Zip file I was led to said "The compressed folder is invalid or corrupt".

I would love to get GBPVR 97 working with the Software recorder and my ATI HDTV Wondercard. Right now I have the 95 version working.

The zip file is fine, but some Internet Explorer users have problems downloading zip attachments from this website. Either try opening the file with WinRar or download it again with another browser.

Hah! Serves me right for trying to download it at work.

I'll give it a shot from home later. Thanks.

Great, I downloaded the new DLL (used Mozilla this time), and copied it into the GBPVR directory that has version 97.9. I was able to use the Software Recorder plugin and now have it working with my ATI HDTV Wondercard - (not HDTV mode of course, but just regular TV watching).

Thanks for the help
