I have a Radeon X800 Pro in my main system and a Radeon 9800 Pro in my HTPC. Would switching the cards give me a better picture or am I wasting my time even thinking about this. BTW, I'm using a 32" SD Sony. Thanks for any suggestions. Any more info needed?Smile

probally depends on where you want your picture displayed and how... What connection you are using etc... they are both Radeon chipsets I dont know this for certain, but I dont think you would be improving your picture much... the ATI picture is pretty darn good as it is...

I don't think you would see any difference. The 9800Pro has enough GPU power to process SD content, and supports DXVA and directX9 hence supports hardware deinterlacing.

I didn't see any difference going from a 9800 Pro to an X800XL when it came to MPEG2 decoding/deinterlacing. There are quality improvements with the newer X1xxx series though.
