AutoTranscode + cut basic questions...

Hi,

I know this is an extremely basic question, but I need help. I want to try out the autotranscode+cut utility, but I cannot figure it out. I've downloaded mencoder and xvid, and I have also downloaded stattik_transcode_0.2.bat.txt. I have made the changes in stattik_transcode_0.2.bat.txt that I want... So how do I run it now? It says this on the wiki: "After configuring it, you can simply drop a file on it to process". What does that mean? How do I "drop a file on it"? I realize this is really basic, but I know nothing about this stuff. Thank you for your help.

Hi smithochris,

Drop a video file on it. If you set the script for test mode, you will get a small output file you can test for quality and compatibility. Once you're happy, you can either setup Dirmon to run on the recordings you want or you make the script your postprocessing.bat file for GBPVR.

Drop a video file on what? I have mencoder, xvid, and your script. I'm sorry, I know this must be a ridiculous question to you, but I am just not understanding!

first of all after you have configured the stattik_transcode_0.2.bat.txt file rename it to stattik_transcode_0.2.bat (in other word change the extension type from text file to batch).

After that is done you should be able to (using windows explorer) drag and drop a video file you wish to transcode/cut etc onto the batch file which is now named stattik_transcode_0.2.bat

You should also be able to do a search for 'SendTo' using windows search and then you can paste a shortcut to the batch file in this directory, this will allow you to then right click on a video file and select 'Sent To' then select the batch file. The SendTo folder is user based and I think is usually located under c:\documents and settings\username\sendto
