My setup is done with no internet connection to it at all. My PC is an HP M900th with a Vixus PureTV tuner (Yeah I know, it's actually working now.. go figure) running Win7-64Bit. So far, everything is running great. I used GBPVR as just a movie player at first since it worked with my MCE Remote flawlessly. I just now got the EPG Data to work using MC2XML and I'm happy with not having to worry about EPG Data in there. (I've used SageTV in the past and it's too buggy... Windows MC requires internet or a mass amount of hacks to get EPG loaded from what I've seen) My PC is used for entertainment (TV, movies, Music) along with graphics work & some gaming. I have 2-23" Acer H233hbmid monitors and a breakout (RGB Component) to my 34" Toshiba CRT running 1080i. Let me know if you need any other details.

Here's a couple of questions. Keep in mind I'm still very new to GBPVR & it's guide / epg processing.

1. What's the best plugin / mod to get the Guide to show me when a show is New or a Re-Run in the info? Can this also be an option on recording? For instance, I only want it to record "New" episodes of Family Guy? (SHUSH! I love that show!) I've been reading on a couple of them but I'm afraid to start hacking and butchering my GBPVR install since I'm being very careful as to not upset Win7. Smile

2. Does the MC2XML grab all of this information anyways? Or is that going to be another project?

3. Is there a way to assign or modify your MCE Remote functions? Say I want the MC button to start GBPVR instead?

Sorry if this is so general, I wasn't sure this belonged in a specific place other than plug-ins?

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks

This ...

http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Utility/UltraXMLTV

says it does ...

Quote:•New Show Indicators (including ‘Reverse’ New Show Indicators)

The Utilities section of the Wiki lists other EPG/XMLTV gadgets that may do what you want.

True. However there's this.

Requirements

* Dot Net 2.0 version 2.0.50727
o This is the standard 2.0 install. It is most likely installed already if you’re using GB-PVR. Newer updates like 2.0 SP1 or 3.5 are backward compatible.
* Ultra is actually designed to be used with GB-PVR and a high speed Internet connection. There is limited support for installations on computers not running GB-PVR or with dial-up Internet.

That is what threw me off. I installed "TVListings" along with "XmltvExtras" to see if that did anything. The guide looks a bit more flashy but I didn't notice much of an improvement.

Apologies. I had assumed that MC2XML ran on a puter with an Internet connection and that UltraXMLTV could be ran on the same puter using the MC2XML output as the UltraXMLTV input. I don't know whether UltraXMLTV works on a puter that does not have GBPVR installed.

It's ok. Yeah I carry a copy of MC2XML on my usb drive to work, I run it and build the XML file here then I copy it to the C:\EPG dir on my home PC and let it update. I do it every few days. I just wanted to know if the information I'm carrying with me already has all of that information and just needs to be processed and added into the descriptions / show info.

Thanks though for any help. It's always appreciated. Smile

TV Listings with XMLTVExtras flags new shows with a "New" icon in the listing. Look at the samples pictures here: http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Plugin/TVListings

If I could read Swedish I'd see it. Smile

I know what you mean though. I have to just mess around with it. I was hoping to avoid discovering fire all on my own again without making a mess. We will see.

Thanks!
