I'm loving the new version. It seems much faster in some respects, and I think the SQLite is going to make a difference. I'm really really enjoying GB-PVR and I appreciate all the work that has gone into it so far!

Is there any way that I can add my own video files to the "Recordings" section of GB-PVR? For instance, I like to watch Pure Pwnage, a "TV show" that is only featured on the internet. I know that I can just put it in my Video Library directory, but I think it would be cooler to have it in the recordings section as a TV series with dates, synopsis, etc. Is there an easy way to do this? Is there a not-so-easy way to do this?

Also, I would like to be able to get this show (and shows like it) directly onto my GB-PVR without having to use a jumpdrive/CD, and without having to plug in the keyboard & mouse on my dedicated GB-PVR box. Is there some sort of torrent plug-in, or even a "My Programs" friendly torrent client that I can use to fetch torrents from (legal) sites like PurePwnage.com, BitTorrent.com, RocketBoom, etc?

If not, is there some sort of guide to programming plug-ins for GB-PVR? Any tips?

What about YouTube? Any idea how to make that work with GB-PVR (again, remote control only)?

Thanks,

Matt

You can probably use the 'Import recordings' feature of the config app to do this. You'd need to create an XML file with the relevent show details and filename. Look at recordings-dump.xml as an example of the format.

Sorry, there is nothing built in that can help you with this.

There isnt a guide as such, but there are several plugins with source code available on the wiki, which will act as decent examples.

I started with this...

http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/gbpvr...f?download

It'll give you the basic framework of a plugin which you can then extend as you wish. If you are using Visual Studio .NET, the nice thing is that all you have to do is create a Class Library project, implement the IMenuTask interface and it'll generate all the stub methods for you. The names of the methods are pretty self-explanatory. The hard bit is putting your own code in. Smile

Cheers,
Brian

I have not installed it (yet), but my understanding is the the UbuStream recorder will allow you to set up a recording source that downloads shows from the Internet. Assuming that you EPG was set up correctly, the shows would be in the GBPVR Guide like any other shows.

I am not sure what it might take to add Bittorrent to that mix. Mybe Ubu could answer better, or look up the recording plugin and see if any of the posts answers your questions.

I've been wanting to set this up myself, but I think I will probably set up a second box and keep my primary one clean.

Sub,

This works great, but I cannot directly enter any Genre information. I found the imported entry in the DB and then manually entered records in the "programme_genre" table using the "programme_oid" from the imported record.

Is there a more direct method?

Thanks.

Sorry, no. There is currently no way to get the genre info also imported.
