That's strange, I don't run windowsMedia for audio here at all, and haven't for a long time. And I've never experienced any of those errors.

MP3 tags are read through a seperate dll (the ultraid3.dll) sitting in your gbpvr directory. You "shouldn't" get any errorrs reading tags, and in my case, the problems would have occured at the reading into the library stage.

Can you try running some of your music that you do have problems with in the default music player. You should get the same errors. ML2 doesn't actually "play" any music, all it does is give it to gbpvr to play - i.e. all this music plugin really is, is a (some would say) fancier way to organise your music. The actual playing bit of any of the music plugins is actually handled by gbpvr itself.

Then once we've established that we may need to go back to sub to see if we can figure out why....

Might not be related but I remember having problems with MP3's created by xing-encoder, bad id3-tags. I rewrote the tags and everything was fine.

My Music was unable to play the files either, so it's a gbpvr rather than MusicLibrary2 issue.

Yep - turns out the inability to play is down to the version of id3 tags. I've resaved tags in an earlier version of id3 and gb-pvr handles them properly without using Windows Media Player. I think I had the same problem with another batch of mp3s a few years ago.

Thanks for the suggestions. Looks like that's the solution - just got to find myself a decent id3-tag batch processor It'll be worth it to have volume control though.

I'm trying your plugin which looks very promising, however I'm getting the following (rather lengthy) error. I have MS access installed but the plugin seems to use SQLite. I've copied MusicLibrary2.mdb to the gbpvr root-directory. Hope you can help. Thanks for the good work.

Did you download from the wiki recently? and are you on gbpvr 97.13??

There was an issue that 97.13 introduced that requires a specific version of ML2 - version 3.11

I noticed that I have 2 ML2 dirs in the blue skin-dir:
music library2
and
MusicLibrary2

They have different files in them, so I tried renaming them (the dirs) one after the other. Turns out I need both dirs. A bit strange I think

Music Library2 is a newer GB-PVR music library folder. (by sub)

MusicLibrary2 is the plugin by psycik.

They are two different things.
