I have a Hauppauge 500 mce and I can watch and record at the same time but not 2 recordings at the same time. What am I doing wrong? Any help would be great!

Thanks!

If you watch live TV, that use up one tuner plus the recording show, you have used up two tuner of the PVR500. If you watch the recorded show, then you can have two tuners recording show at the same time.

Right but, when I am NOT watching live tv, I can not perform 2 simultanous recordings. Does this make sense? Any thoughts?

Thanks!

Can you try a different test like one time schedule the NBC and ABC network news at 18:00 to see if gbpvr can schedule it? The only thing I think is that you run into the problem with the logic of the way gbpvr picking the tuner for scheduling shows.

I have done that and it will schedule it but is flagged as a conflict and placed in that 'folder'. If its a problem with the logic of picking tuners, how can I resolve that? Another interesting thing is that if I try to run the Tuning Assistant while watching Live tv, it says its tuning the stations but I get no video or audio.

Thanks!

When you setup the capture cards in the configuration tool did you choose device #1 for the first tuner and device #2 for the second tuner?
Divine 4 P4 2.66GHz ASUS PK5-E, 2 GB RAM,
GeForce 8500GT 512MB, Twin SATA Barracuda 420s,
Win XP Home, 1 PVR 500, 1 HVR 1600

Did you setup the capture recording correctly? That is setup device #1 for one capture and device #2 for another capture, and populate EPG for both capture sources.

At first I made the mistake that both were comfigured as device #1, then I deleted the second config and re-configured as device #2. Should I just delete them both and re-config both? I also saw in the wiki that when using the 500mce the first tuner should be used as Hauppauge 500mce and the 2nd as Hauppauge 500mce with fm tuner...should I config this way? What then if I use 2 5oomce cards what do I call #3 and #4?

THanks!

You can try them out to see what works for you. At least, you head the right directions.
