This is because you did not install the VB6 runtime files. The link is on the wiki...

http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Utili...cess#toc12

I'm sorry that I was not clearer that you needed both the ZProcess.zip AND VB6 SP5 Runtime files...

I was pretty sure I had done that but just to be sure I re-installed VB6 SP5. Unfortunately I still get the same missing Component MSCOMCTL.OCX error.

OK. I've added a couple more common .ocx files to the install zip..

Thanks for your patience. If there are other files you need, I'll add them, they're small and I do have the license to redistribute thyem...

Thanks zehd - I'll give it another go this weekend and post my experience.
<fingers crossed> Wink

It's working perfectly!! A big thanks to Zehd!!!

I have to confess I didn't have time to read all the wiki setup and config info so I just went with the defaults. It complained about comskip not being found (I don't use comskip), but then there was a message saying to ignore the comskip message.

I only tried a couple of my AVI files but it worked perfectly as far as I can tell - full screen, correct aspect, centered correctly.

THANK YOU. Smile

Well I may have spoke too soon. It's not working perfect but it is working for some avi's. I have to spend a lot more time testing to pin point the behavior. It seems some avi's start playing fine for a few seconds and then all of a sudden it just simply exits or quits back to the file menu without any error or warning.

I have the same problem, At one point I thouhgt I found out why one avi would play with no probs and an other one with exact same settings didn't. It all pointed to the diffrence in the original files, being AC3 audio or not. But even with retranscoding the audio didn't make them play so I'm still looking into this.... unfortunately little time to spend on this wright now.

I'm very sure that this beahviour is not actually from ZProcess. If you were to go back to the defaults and use the original FFMPEG that ships with GB-PVR, you would also have a drop out.

The biggest reason is that most computers are simply not able to crank through a transcode smootly and quickly enough to keep ahead of GB_PVR... (under certain conditions)

I noticed that you have a pretty powerful computer, very similar to my own. It certainly upset me to learn that I would not be able to transcode a large format MPG, even with my fairly modern, strong computer.

I discovered that for MVP use, I would need to be able to transcode faster than double real-time.

That means, that when I take an AVI, and try and transcode only 1 minute, I should be able to get that in faster than 30 secs.

On my sempron 3100, I get 16 secs. On my P4 1800, I get 26 secs...

It's my P41800 that is having some troubles with SOME AVI files. I'm starting to see that some AVIs original parameters may cause just a bit more work for FFMPEG and so GB-PVR gives up waiting...

It all works great on my own two computers, but kinda flaky on my wife's computer. That's why, I'm planning on setting up VB6 on my wifes computer and tweak ZProcess with a slower computer in mind...

But I should point out, that much of the tweaking can already be done if you were to Read The *Friendly* Manual... Smile

PS. I'm not critcizing your computer. I'm just saying that most of us have to make a compromise on quality, in order to get stability. This is not a ZProcess thing - this is a realtime-transcoding-MVP thing...

I just had a problem playing back a pure mpg video - could zprocess have anything to do with mpg playback?
