I wasn't sure how to describe this correctly - one reason I've taken so long to actually write a couple of questions...

OK. Lately this summer I'm only recording three shows (Fururama, Family Guy, and Southpark) They're regular recordings. A couple of these shows record simutaneously with my two tuner system...

Once in a while I'll notice that the picture and audio speeds up or skips for milliseconds at a time. Short enough to not screw up the conversation or the sentence, just a word. This may happen, a couple of words in a sentence. This may happen for about a minute and then it's OK.

I have comskip running 'during' by GB-PVR. I do have post processing happening, but I've been checking these glitches against the original MPG with or without the comskip.txt file present too.

These problems were much more obvious when I was previously fighting with the Timesync errors, that I have since fixed...

Anyone know what I'm talking about, and where to look to adjust/fix?

The only thing I can possibly relate to that is the PVR150 timestamp error: http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=14006

Would this be more evident on an MVP?? To the point where everytime you hit the skip (Ctrl Right or F) it pretty much randomly chooses a point in the video file after or before where you currently are, to start showing again. These are recorded shows and it only seems to be random ones.

Succinct as always sub Big Grin

i had a look through the time stamp thread, and have had a quick look on the hauppauge site, are the 2043_24103 - version drivers from hauppauge.com the "recommended" drivers now, or should I be hunting through the threads as shpvr?

I will revist the Time stamp thing. I was just thinking it was something else, because it was really bad, I applied patches, and it got better (almost)

Anyway, thanks...

Um, so I double checked, and reinstalled, even running hwclear, and following 'my own' directions... Rolleyes

Anyway, still having some of the issue.

Just wondering.... How much difference would it make for me to throw another 512megs of ram into the box?

I'm also thinking of having Comskip running after the fact for a bit.

I seem to be having a jerky playback of recorded and downloaded material while recording in progress...

Don't know what any of this means...

It might be 'log and zip' time, but I'm not sure what we would find...

Defragmenting might help.
Check if your hd's are still on max performance, afaik it happens that they fall back to a lower rate.
Running comskip after the show may help, specially if you record two shows at the same time, and maybe watching another show.
AMD Athlon 64 3000, HDD: 80, 120, 200 GB, Hauppauge 350 + 150, MVP, Asus 6000L Laptop client, Asus X50sl client,
Fritz!box 7140 modem/router, GBPVR 1.3.7.

What do you mean 'hd on max performance'?

I do defrag, and there's lots of empty space...

(Thanks for the help)

I mean checking the IDE properties for your drive(s). It should probably show something like "ultradma mode 5", but I read it can go back to "pio-mode whatever" due to certain faults. I think windows sets it to a lower level after a certain amount of faults (something like that).
