jam_zhou Wrote:ynohtna, what you are experiencing is normal I think - I'm still running 96.XX. Once you've selected the WDM plugin and it asks you to save the settings, you need to actually get out of the config application completely and come back in. Then you can actually get to configuring the card. It took me about two weeks of tweaking the plugin to get mine working.

BTW you won't be able to get live preview working. The plugin only works in timeshift mode for the AIW.

Thanks Jam_Zhou!

Have my capture source saved now. Live TV popped up and ran ok. I'm only really thinking about Live TV for now... Onto the rest of the issues, like figuring out why I'm not getting any sound. I'm searching but do you have any ideas why?

You are not getting sound because GBPVR isn't setting up the graph properly. NormanR and Sub have figured it out, but Sub has not implemented the changes yet, and it's very low priority for Sub. It's only by chance (??) that it works at all for the timeshift mode. Search my previous posts in this thread and you'll see what I mean. In your set up, if you have the encoders and muxers set up then enter timeshift mode and see if you get sound.

thanks again for the reply! Think I'll just stick with MMC until I build a real media pc in coming months.

Hi, I just got this thing working with a Leadtek FlyVideo 2000. Works great except for 2 things:
1. quality is not as good as DScaler so I was wondering how I can fix that (change resolution or whatever)

2. Recording/TimeShifting does not work.

Thanks,
Alex

Alex,
I had an ATI card that did the same thing, great for live TV... but no recording or timeshifting. I guess I can't complain, its not "supported" at all by GB-PVR. I now use that card for live tv only in my main pc, with this plug in.

What about the quality part of it. It's not as good as DScaler. I played with the quality settings. I set it at max resolution (720x576) on YUY2 color but I get weird movement (kinda like horizontal lines when the image moves fast). Then I tried YVU9 at the same resolution and it's not as clear but moves fine. Also I can't set anything but VMR9 Custom renderrer in the playback settings or TV won't show, not that I'd want to.
Another thing is I can't change the volume. GBPVR internal volume has no effect over the TV volume so I was wondering if I can change the key mappings so that Left and Right control Master Volume instead of the internal one.
And last but not least where can I find video ajustments like Contrast, Brightness, Hue, and all of those.

Oooh man if only Dscaler implemented all the features GBPVR has, or if only GBPVR could use Dscaler to show TV.

Well, I just ordered a Ati e-Home so hopefully that will fix any issues I have. It also offers me the option to use other software, because as far as I know and tested GB-PVR with this plugin is the only one that works with FlyVideo. Well kinda works.

Hi All, good news and bad news...

my computer crashed due to user error - I deleted a windows process corrupting my entire system, so I had to reinstall. Too bad because it was so stable and I hadn't touched the config page for over 2 months.

The good news is that it forced me to test out this plugin with the latest ATI AIW 9600 xt drivers...and it worked. The significance of this is that ATI had changed the graph to have unified renderers which were different from previous versions.

Summary:
CCC 6.7
MMC 9.14
VMR9 custom
AVIVO encoders - installed this last and told it to overwrite all dlls

I can actually have live preview, but it is choppy. Recording and timeshift work fine.

My only problem is that I don't have overlay for some reason. I'll have to look into it as I don't think my CCC was installed properly.

Anyway, it took 2.5 days on and off to get my system functioning enough that my PVR life is back to normal.

Cheers,
Jam.z

Wow Jamz.... that sucks.

So what did you tell the wife happened so the "crash" didn't hurt the WAF. Smile Congrats, atleast you got it back!
