In the config module, I have set the EPG update at 5.00AM, and both checked 'wake machine' and 'complete EPG reload' . But this setup fails to reload the EPG. When looking in the windowsupdate.log, I can see my machine receives a wake up event just before 5AM, and goes to sleep 2 minutes later. But no reload did take place, no trace at all in GBPVRRecordingService.exe.log. If I do the reload manually (rightclicking the system tray icon), the update goes fine, so my capture source setup seems fine.

Is there a setting that I missed?

Hi cakes,

Did you ever receive an answer? I am also seeing cases like that.

Thanks,

I found an odd workaround for this...

I schedule my anti-virus daily full-system scan to 06:00 and tell it to immediately run the test if it wakes up and find that it had missed it. I set GBPVR to auto-update at 06:00. I also add a scheduled task for 05:59 to wake up the computer and run a batch file that does nothing except log the time and date into a log file.

This setup causes the computer to wake at 05:59, and the scan holds it operating until about 07:00. This is enough for GBPVR to realize that it must update the EPG.

This works nicely for a couple of days now.

I was unable to make GBPVR wake itself for auto-update. Just stopped working one day, and never came back.

I'm also now having same problem. EPG update worked fine for months and now it just wakes the machine, does nothing and goes back to sleep. Can't think of anything I've changed. I'll continue to investigate.

Just out of curiosity, how many of you guys are using a wireless Internet connection?

I've noticed that Windows takes a few seconds to connect to the wireless network after coming out of sleep. My completely unconfirmed theory is that GB-PVR will try to do the EPG Update before the wireless connection is done connecting. It will see that there is no Internet connection and subsequently quit.

Add me to the list of people with this issue. Worked fine for months now it does not. Has anyone found a solution to this?

My machine will wake up a couple of minutes before the assigned time but then goes back into standby ~5 minutes later and no EPG update occurs.

Running 0.97.13.

There were some changes in v0.98.8 that should have resolved this.

I upgraded to 0.98.8, but the problem remains. The machine goes back into standby ~3-4 minutes after it comes out of standby and no update of the EPG takes place.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

That's great, Sub. Thanks!
