FWIW, I have rarely been able to load any dongle.bin directly from gbpvr; I have to use a separate tftp server (can't remember what it's called, I'm at work right now but it was FOSS). It might be worth using if new users are having problems.

If anyone's interested, I can post the name and link.

I had the opportunity to closely examine a couple of setups where the user could not load the dongle.bin. This was because network was loosing a lot of UDP packets.

Hey Guys,

i was not able to find a thread and didn't want to open a new one, so that i post my question in this thread:

At the moment I'm using ver. 0.96.8 and I'm pretty happy with it. I recognized, that there is a new version out there.

But I don't know how to update to the new version. Do I have to uninstall the old version, install the new one and configure it right from the start. It took me a pretty long time to configure my current version. Can the settings (channels, plugins etc.) be imported from version 0.96.8 to the 0.97-version??

A short explanation for a noob would be great Wink

You can install the new one over the top and it will retain your existing settings. I recommend people back up their config.xml and gbpvr.mdb in case anything goes wrong with the upgrade though.

He should remove some, or better all, of the 3rd Party Plugins. Most of his Plugins should be .NET 1.1 compatible and not .NET 2.0 imho.

Yeah, that too - and install the .net 2.0 runtime.
