Welcome to our newest member, obvious-spamer-name

Come on, who puts 'xxx' or 'insurance' in their screen name?

Sorry, I must have missed that when I woke up, I'd only been awake 5 minutes and couldn't muster up a response ... Big Grin

Yeah, count me in, I hate spam with a vengeance approaching gargantuan proportions, it is a poxy curse on society and a real bane to boot.

I just don't understand these folks. Surely they must visit forums too, and it must just turn around and bite them on the bum eventually. I see forums register with those obscured codes as a foil to all that, could this forum s/w not do that? Cheap labour to do the code reading? Aren't the codes also auto-generated at each particular login event, so that you can't just snaffle a bunch of codes prior to the bots doing the work?

Anyway, let me know how I can help.

Just repeating what I read elsewhere...

Yes the codes are auto generated with each registration. They were saying there was a utility that just shows code after code, generated a couple of seconds earlier by the first stage of registration being completed automatically, and as the person enters the code it completes the registration and does its part auto spams the site before moving on to the next one.

Personally I reckon thats just vbulletins excuse for it not generating cryptic enough code graphics.

They also were told police had approved the parade and would be in attendance to ensure road safety.

Yeah, right.

Things have certainly changed since I was down there xx years ago.

I think you're right - seems there is an online decoder for CAPTCHA see http://sam DOT zoy DOT org/pwntcha/ - that claims to have 100% success with Vbulletin

Edit: URL obscured incase sub doesn't apprecitate giving them the link

This thread was being updated almost every day. Yet now there is an 8 day gap between the last entry and the one before it. Has someone accidentally deleted too much SPAM?
No messages have been deleted from this thread. I think your memory is playing tricks on you. Time flies when you're having fun.

I did take the axe to that one. After careful consideration, I decided even though it was on-topic, it really did look like spam. I didnt want anyone downloading the linked utility.
