My daughter was playing around with "net radio" on GBPVR tonight. After she got off of the computer I noticed the "gbnetradio-0.mp3" file I had in my directory had been overwritten by a station my daughter was listening to. The original file had a rare song from Ireland that I wanted to archive, unfortunately my file recovery software cannot find the file "gbnetradio-0.mp3". I fear it may be lost for good. Does anyone know what happened to the original file and if there is a way to restore it so that I can back it up to a CD? Your help is greatly appreciated.

gbnetradio-0.mp3 is a temp file with the netradio music in it. If you want to keep it you have to copy/rename it, otherwise gbpvr will overwrite it next time you start netradio. I don't think it's possible to recover it once it's overwritten. SorrySad

Sorry to say Tom. That file is just a cache or temp file If you wanted to save it, you should have renamed it...

Should-a, could-a would-a, hindsight is 20/20.... anyway, sorry to say that if you can't do a data level recovery, you're hooped...

Any idea of the band, some lyrics, name of song? might be able to do some creative googling.

Also, you might be able to contact the radio station... If they played it, they've got a list... if you're really nice, they might be able to help you...

Thanks for all of the kind responses. Hopefully I'll learn from my mistake and not lose the data again. In response to my friend in Ireland I think the song title is something like "Aon Focal Eile" but I'm not sure who is the artist that recorded it. Something in the back of my mind tells the the artists first name could be "Rich" or "Rickie" but I'm not 100% sure on that. I appreciate the help and I'm sure going to enjoy my time on this forum as there is a wealth of information here regarding the GBPVR software.

That's the artist alright- Richie Kavanagh. Thanks a million for helping out, if I can't get it played again on net radio then I'm going to see if I can find his CD (very funny material) or at least the song on itunes. Also thanks for the link happyhammer, if I'm in a jam at least I know I can order the CD from the UK.
I thought this was gone for good and you guys really bailed me out. It is greatly appreciated! I hope I can repay the favor sometime. Smile
