I am having great results my AverTVHD A180 tuner card. Local HD program looks great. I would like to know how to enable S-video input. I have setup a BDA Recording Plugin, selected NONE for EPG source, and added a channel. When selecting Direct Recording Plugin or GO7007SB plugin, the AverTV A180 is not in the pick list for avialable tuner card. Can anyone offer some advise.
Thanks

Unfortunately the analog side of this device lacks the required MPEG2 encoder hardware, so is not supported in GB-PVR as an analog capture device.

HtV and sub, thanks for reply to this post. sub you are right about the AverTVHD A180, looks like I will have to get another card for analog. If I do then I will be able to fully utilize MCE.

Is this the same card described in this thread?

http://www.aver.com/mpd/mcea180wb_feature.html

(The only model difference seems to be inclusion of "MCE" in the name.)

The manufacturer's website claims "Hardware MPEG-2 Encoded" (sic).

Reason I ask is because I'm shopping around for an ATSC receiver. I already have a PVR-500 so the analog side is kind of a moot point, all in all.

I dont have any first hand experience with this card, but if it has an hardware MPEG2 encoder, then it might work for analog aswell - but would require a new definition to be added to the direct.ini file.

The digital side of this device works fine with GB-PVR.
