Just installed my shiny new ATSC receiver. Live TV works great, but I can't get any working recordings.

Normally, MuxChecker reports "no multiplexer found," so I tried the default embedded Microsoft mux. This results in a 4k dvr-ms file that can't be played.

I downloaded and registered the Cyberlink mux:

Found: CyberLink MPEG Muxer
FILE: c:\Applications\GB-PVR\Multiplexers\MpgMux.ax
VERSION: 5.0.0813

This results in a 0k mpg file that can't be played.

For fun, I also installed the native AVerTV 6 app. This records to proper mpg files which play fine. Unfortunately, GB-PVR apparently can't use its filters.

I've attached two log subsets containing information that looked relevant. If anybody could take a look and provide a lead I'd appreciate it.

Thanks!

[ADDENDUM: recording to Transport Stream does work but the .ts files are about 3x as big as the equivalent MPG files VideoReDo produces. And GB-PVR can't view .ts files so preview & timeshift don't work.]

Ah! that did it. I thought I was past that, but I had an old patch version. The 5th patch worked right.

The new scanner missed a few channels, but got the ones I'm mainly interested in. I will experiment to see if I can pick the others up.

Is there a way for me to manually define the tuning parameters for stations under the scanner's radar?

Thanks sub, this is shaping up nicely.

Yes, its still possible to do that, but you need to know a bit more info like PID numbers etc, which makes it a much harder job to do manually.

I have a couple of TS digesters, but I've found that my local ATSC channels seem to come and go depending on their schedule. Successive scanner runs over the course of the day allow me to fill in nearly all my EPG entries.

The interesting part is that now I get a couple of extra channels in GB-PVR that don't seem to show up on my ATSC television.
