I am pretty new to this whole PVR thing but have been reading stuff on it for the past few weeks.

I have been looking at the WinTV-PVR-350 by happauge for the PVR card.

Will this let me watch and record video at the same time?

Can I plug the TV into this card directly or use some type of tv out on a video card?

Will the remote work with GB-PVR?

Is there a difference between WinTV-PVR-350 and PVR-350 or are they the same?

I have many more questions but will wait for postings on these. I just want to make sure this stuff will work since I have never done this before and the card is $200.

GBPVR support the 350's remote natively so ther is no software issues. Just select it in the Config program.

They are the same model.

I dont know if the 350 can encode/record a show and decode/view a show at the same time. But if you do use the video card out to your TV then the 350 can record the show and GBPVR will allow you to view it using your video card. Its just a question can the 350 do both things at once? There are some people here that can answer that.

Yup [Image: smile.gif] It can (as with live tv) record a program and show it on the tv at the same time (with a couple of seconds time delay), and it can also record one program and show a previous recording on the tv at the same time.

The encoder and decoder on the card works seperately.

Just to clarify can I record one show while watching a completley different show or just watch the show that I am recording or one that is already recorded?

You can record a show and watch it at the same time OR record a show and watch a previously recorded show.

You cannot record one channel and watch another at the same time with this card.

The pvr-350 can record to one mpeg file and play another mpeg file at the same time.

So record one show and watch a completely diffirent show at the same time is possible.

Sub noted this about watching live tv on the PVR350
[b Wrote:Quote[/b] ]3) Yes you're "able to watch, pause and record Live TV on your TV". Its worth noting that, while you can use the full range of pause/play/ff/rw/skip on "already recorded" video, live tv only allows for pause & play (no ff/rw/skip) on the MVP or PVR350. This is still basically a work in progress, and I'll have this working sometime in the near future.

I don't remember if the current version of GBpvr can play a file on the pvr350's tv out while it's being recorded, but if it can then the 'no ff/rw/skip' problem will apply to that too.

Hello everybody, my first time here.

How do you do that ( record a program and watch another video on the tv-out of the pvr-350'Wink.
Can it be done in GB-PVR as well as in WinTV2000?

GBpvr can do it, I don't think wintv2000 can....

GBpvr records the programs you have told it to record regardless of what else you're doing.
