Any RAID 0 users?

I'm thinking of using RAID 0 (striping) supported in XP pro for recording HDTV shows. I figured it out howto but before I jump in, I'd like to hear from your experience.
Specifically, does it improve the writing and reading speed? I'm recording 2 HDTV shows most of the time.

I have both a SCSI hardware raid and a Software (XP) IDE raid (see my sig line) -- both work great although I have not benchmarked them at all. I do simultaneous recordings (std def) all the time without a hiccup.
