Hi all. New here but have been reading for a couple hours.

Stuff:
WinTV 150 (non-MCE)
Satellite box
WinXP (non-MCE)

I have never used a PVR front end but heard about GBPVR on AVS and thought I'd give it a try. I made much progress but am confused about setting up the IR blaster.

The relevent PC sits in a back bedroom with its own satellite receiver. Its sole purpose in life is to record programs (no live TV, no pausing, no other stuff at all.) I've been using the WinTV suite of apps for a couple years and it works great except for things likee padding, auto-wake-up, etc. I use the ir blaster (to change the receiver channels) but don't use, don't need and have never used the IR receiver/remote parts of the package.

Now I want to setup GBPVR to do what the WinTV blaster did but I'm stuck.

Can someone help me out assuming I have a working WinTV setup and need the blaster set up the same way. I've tried numerous avenues but nothing has worked and I really don't understand this at all.

BTW, I have the TVGuide and live TV and recordings and EPG all set up.

Thanks in advance.

You need to have successfully configured the Hauppauge BlastCfg app to control your set top box, then configure your capture source to use the .exe channel changer with the .exe set to "c:\program files\devnz\gbpvr\HaupBlast.exe".

Thanks very much sub. I'll give it a try (I was looking in the wintv folder for the haup executable).

So far I think the program is great.
