Eeeek:eek: ,
I didn't see it until now, weird.

Edit: I did some tests:

Code:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\hcwPP2\DriverData]
"HcwTimeStampIssue1"=dword:00000001
"HcwTimeStampIssue2"=dword:00000000

Quote:[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\hcwPP2\DriverData]
"HcwTimeStampIssue1"=dword:00000001
"HcwTimeStampIssue2"=dword:00000000

As you can see: if you wrap it in code-tags it's ok, in quote-tags it adds the space.
Funny thing though: if you click the edit button the spaces are not there in the edit window.

I would just like to report I got my first successful recording without the timestamp issue.

I think I've had the card for 3 months, or when CC was selling it for $50. I jumped on it in anticipation of the NFL season. When I installed GB-PVR (I think I'm on the old version) and tested it out, I realized I had run into the timestamp issue. Hadn't taken the time to fix my drivers.

This Sunday I fixed the drivers and recorded SportsCenter. Followed the directions on the shspvr forum to clean out my old drivers.

Quote:How do good uninstall with older drv and app.
In this kit I add a new file called hcw_unregister.bat.
1: Run hcw_unregister.bat.
2: Uninstall everything from Add/Remove Progams with the words Hauppauge and InterVideo FilterSDK.
3: Run hcwclear.exe.
4: Reboot.
5: DO NOT cancel hardware wizard un-check all Option Search location so that it dosen't fine anything, re-run hcwclear.exe one more time dbl check everything over.
6: Check the Device Mangaer for (?) if you see one rigth click uninstall it.
7: Run hcwclear.exe.
8: Check the registry by searching for key words hcw, wintv, globespan and hauppauge "Note: DON NOT REMOVE the registry key hcw4.0" also beware if using 3rdparty software like SageTV, BeyondTV you may fine some registry don't remove them if not sure just post a reply with registry folder name.
9: Reboot now ready to install new drv and app.

I didn't really do a thourough search of the registry, but I set it up to record SportsCenter on Monday and everything was fine. I'm assuming the problem has been fixed, but it's something to keep an eye out on.

Running a Pentium III 866 Mhz on a VIA chipset with GeForce 5200MX. This week I just ordered a new computer, 3500+ A64 with nForce4 chipset. I hope to have my rig recording and converting MPEG2 to Xvid in no time using GBPVR. The ability to record 4 NFL games per week (5 once I add in another PVR150) is just too sweet. Add in comskip and this is the killer app for my computer. I hate to admit I don't use as intended... but it works better than anything else.

My old rig will be used to dabble in MythTV... but I'll mainly use GBPVR to record (at least until next season).

Okay, ready for this one? Wink

I was having some time-ish issues that I posted in another thread. My problems were not exactly presenting the way this problem is, but it was recommended that I try these drivers as a possibly solution. Now I *AM* encountering these official timestamp problem (and I know that because it's exactly what others have described in this thread), but this only occured *AFTER* I installed these drivers. When this driver install didn't solve my other time-ish related problem, I just simply reinstalled GBPVR from scratch, and didn't worry about rolling back to the previous drivers because I figured it couldn't hurt to keep these latest ones in, right?

I just reinstalled the drivers, verified the registry change was still there, and rebooted. I'll be checking my regular recordings over the next few days, but this seems rather weird to me that I would only end up with the official timestamp problem after installing these drivers....figures! Big Grin

Running on a Dell P4/1.8mhz, Intel chipset, PVR500 and PVR150, nVidia geForce FX5200, with a rather pretty oak afro-colonial style computer desk stained red mahogany to match my armoire and bookshelves. Seriously....could the desk be the problem? It is an old desk...time issues....okay, sorry.

I'm almost scared to believe my problems have been fixed since I've been having them for so long now... using DbgView from SysInternals i found that i was incurring both TimeStampIssue1 and TimeStampIssue2! So i applied both alternate registry settings and in the last 12 hours no alerts! Please let this be it!

Thanks UncleJohn for re-posting this solution here!

Just FYI, my newly appearing timestamp issues were resolved by reinstalling the drivers, ensuring the registry change was still there, and then rebooting. Haven't had a timestamp issue since, but that sure was a weird one considering I never had a timestamp issue before installing the drivers! Oh, well. Weirder things will happen to my GBPVR system in the future, I'm sure!

Well, I thought I would avoid this problem by having the latest drivers installed and having no evidence of timestamp issues with several recordings. But with my recording of "Sin City" reporting 30 minutes in length I realized I had some issues. I downloaded the Debug Viewer and there were my timestamp issues 1 and 2. I applied the registry tweaks and now the problem appears to be gone (or in hiding). Evidently the timestamp issue can only be resolved by a combination of the latest drivers and the registry tweak. Now I just need to find a good encoder to re-encode my "Sin City" so I can burn it to DVD with correct timestamps. Any suggestions?

Thanks! I saw mention of ReTime in this thread and did a forum search that did not yield any good results. I didn't realize this was on the wiki. Thanks for the link.
