I was cleaning my room, accidentally flipped power switch on power strip that pc was plugged into...Some weird surge happend and my video card is now...toast. If i have it in the pc..it wont even boot, or i dont think it does...but theres no video to know for sure .... As far as i know..every thing else is fine....I hope! I'd hate to have to drop another 75 for a pvr 150. I'm already dropping 40 for a nvidia 6200 (should this perform decent ?)...

I thought those stories were just that... stories. Hope you'll fix it without too muxh fuzz. I think that 6200 will do quite fine.

Try resetting your bios, don't ask me why it might work but it has worked for me with the same problem. Just take out the battery for a minute and put it back and see what happens, can't hurt to try. Good luck.

Sounds a bit like the "hard atx reset" (I think it's called). Take out the powercord and then press the powerbutton for about 30 secs. It empties the capacitators I think. Worked for me once.

I had my video card go strange on me once. Fortunately I have VNC on my machines and was able to "see" that machine. I had to reset the video defaults up and it worked great. I was already looking for a new card when I remembered I had VNC.

Not sure why you think its the video card if you had a power surge, it would be the PSU.
