Multiple country channels.

Hi.
I'm living in Sweden, but I have the possiblity to view some Danish and Norwegian channels via my satelite dish.

Is is possible to configure GB-PVR to automaticly recieve EPG for these channels?

Sorry if this is a newbie question but that's what I am.

Hej Nalle, and welcome

GBPVR doesn't do any EPG retrieval by itself (other than for American users - but that's a different story), so you need a program that, by itself, retrieves EPG data and puts it in an xmltv format. o2grabber is one that many scandinavian users use, but I'm unsure of the status regarding non-swedish channels there. There is also one called tvgrabber that works for no-se-dk. You then point gbpvr to the resulting xmltv file, and gbpvr will read that file each night and update its EPG.

If the satellite channels you are receiving send EPG information on their transponders then you should be able to pick this up using the DVB broadcast option in the EPG source configuration.

I find this doesn't collect the information quite as well as myTheatre though, so I have been using a utility available on their website (xmltv2mtepg) which allows you to take the info from the myTheatre epg and convert it to an xml file that GBPVR can read.

It works well, and I've created a simple batch file that can be launched from GBPVR (using the custom buttons) which goes into mytheatre and sits on the transponders of the channels I want information for a minute or two, and then launches the conversion utility (GBPVR uses this method of going and opening each transponder in turn for a set time as well). Of course you could just do this all manually as well.
