One more question: Under which circumstances would the two different versions "crash"? I haven't noticed it until now.

I can say that I have never heard of an issue of anything crashing with the new version......the only thing that ever came up was that there was a mix-match between what was shipping with GBPVR.

I wish there would have been something in the logs, but there was nothing to be found. I'm real glad I found out what caused it (more or less).
I really use EWA a lot from the laptop. With the new version I could use the client but in my opinion the EWA tv-guide works better, definitely nicer.

A, sorry for the interruption, just one question: I am missing a feature in the recordingsmenu from EWA.
I can plan a recording within the guide, yes. But i can't enter a prerecording time, like in the normal EPG. This feature is a little important for me.

On the Guide....along the top line there is a link for Manual Recording....click on it and you can schedule a manual recording.....

Nope....I belive it just needs to be located in the web folder under the gbpvr directory....wherever that may be.

Make sure that you have unblocked the port on your firewall and router.

Hmm, well that's unfortunate. I put everything into the necessary folders, changed the port via the config console to 7777 and my attempts to access it from the GBPVR machine itself are what's giving the PCBD. I don't even want to view it outside my local network, actually.

The strange thing is that netstat -a doesn't show anything listening on 7777 - what's the default install port?

edit: Update: I unchecked the web part of the config, saved, reopened it, checked, and retried and now at least I get something:

Server Error in '/gbpvr' Application.
HTTP Error 404 - Not Found.
Version Information: Cassini Web Server 1.0.2445.14611

Is there an error log I can check to see what's 404'ing?

edit2: sorry to keep editing but I figured it's better than re-replying. I retried but with a longer URL (http://192.168.1.103:7777/gbpvr/guide.aspx) and got this:

That one is easy....get rid of the GBWEB.dll....it is no longer used so you are getting a conflict between the old and new versions.

Install instructions for EWA are listed on the Wiki (along with the most current release info) ....following them ensures that you get a clean install.

I'm having a weird problem with Web Admin. I've search the threads and found several people with problems but not exactly like I have.

Here are the details.

-I had it working prior to the upgrade 0.98.8b

-After I upgrade to 0.98.8b I also upgraded to Build 47 of the web admin.

-I can connect on the local machine with http://loacalhost:7647/gbpvr/Manage.aspx

-I can connect on the local machine using the network name of meadiapc with http://mediapc:7647/gbpvr/Manage.aspx

Now when I go to another machine inside my network and use http://mediapc:7647/gbpvr/Manage.aspx it just times out. I'm using Sygate firewall on both machines with AVG Anti-virus. I have tried disabling both but still no luck. Again it worked before so nothing should have changed here.

I can telnet on the mediapc and it makes a connection, this does not work on another machine on the LAN.

My initial thoughts are that this can't be a web admin problem, but it is wierd since everything was working before. If anyone can point me in another direction or make a suggestion of something else to look at I would appreciate it.

Do you have a gbweb.dll file in the web\bin directory? If so, remove it.

Sorry if this has been covered, but i haven't been able to find it. I'm having trouble using the web interface. I just went through the Wiki instructions on getting the latest version, but that hasn't seem to have helped. Whenever I visit any of the pages (e.g. http://localhost:7647/gbpvr/index.aspx), I get the following error:

Do you have a gbweb.dll file in the web\bin directory? If so, remove it.

I checked and, no this is not in the directory.
