Ureka!!!
I think I've found it. Yesterday I did a clean install of GBPVR, Blue MCE and ML2 into a clean copy of Windows (Thank God for VMWare!).
Everything worked as it should do so I started blaming my origonal setup for the odd behaviour and was considering trashing that and starting from scratch. Good job I didn't.)
Having played around with the clean copy yesterday, I thought I'd just give it one more check this morning and lo & behold, the odd behaviour has appeared in the clean copy.
One by one I've worked through every config option and guess what, if I change the "While playing show" in config to "Visualisations", the odd behaviour starts. If I set it to Album Art, behaviour returns to normal.
I've tested this back on my origonal machine and that behaves the same too.
Is this something in the ML2 coding or a media player problem?
