hi all, i have been using gbpvr for a month now and love it! a big thankyou to the developers!

im hoping someone could help me with 2 issues;

if I schedule a recording to start in an 30mins or so, its records fine, if i schedule it to start in about 4 hours, the video is corrupt, any channel, and the audio is perfect.

the other issue is one channel (tv3 in new zealand) has choppy audio when watching it live or recording it, the signal isnt 100% but was hoping there may be a way for me to fine tune the audio? all the other channels are great! i have tried tuning it using cable and attena, and it is on the best signal i can get.

thanks in adavaced for any help someone can provide

cheers

Quote:if i schedule a recording using the tv guide on any channel for say 1 or 2 hours delay the recording is perfect.

if i schedule a recording for about 4 hours delay (or longer) it records, audio is perfect, but the picture is all static / not watchable... would it be something to do with gbpvr not tuning into the channel correctly? I have tried quality settings etc, but dont know what to try now...
Can you post a screenshot so I can see what sort of thing it looks like.

I'd be surprised if it was related to the length though. The item that does the recording has no idea how long the recording is going to be. The only difference is it is asked to stop sooner - so you'd expect at least the start of the recording to be identical.

You sure it wasnt a specific channel problem?

You may find another frequency has a better reception of TV3. Try running the tuning assistant, and setting it to 'new zealand' and 'cable', then let it scan for channels. The cable setting will scan a much wider set of frequencies. You may find one that is better than the current one you're using.

Thanks for your reply,

Sorry I should have explained it better, if I schedule a recording to start in 30mins or so, its records fine, if i schedule it to start in about 4 hours, the video is corrupt, any channel, and the audio is perfect.

I will try and get a screenshot, thanks again

We'll probably need to see your log files. Can you zip them up and attach to a post here. Get all the files that end with ".log" in your "c:\program files\devnz\gbpvr" directory (or wherever you installed gbpvr). Unless someone knows straight off what might be the problem. I don't Smile

Maybe the system goes to sleep/standby in the 4 hrs before the recording and doesn't wake up properly.

Looks like bad reception to me.

Did you try my suggestion above about scanning for a stronger signal on NZ/Cable?
