ADS MXL-581 cheap wireless MVP alternative?

Anyone familiar with this media player? geeks.com has a special on it for $50.
I realize that it won't integrate nicely with GBPVR like the MVP, but I does support MPEG-1/2/4, DivX and AVI. It also has a DVI output and it is significantly cheaper than a wireless MVP.

Without the great GB-PVR integration you'd normally get with an MVP, it wouldnt be worth it to me.

GBPVR integration isn't as important to me as playing .avi files off my GBPVR server.

The MVP client is cool, but I can just tightVNC to my server & schedule recordings if I have too.

I'd consider one if I didn't need to play DVD's & if someone actually reviewed the thing.
I can't find a review anywhere & i'm always worried about .avi compatibility on settop boxes.
