I think that was the day sub converted the forum to vBulletin. I bet when he converted the old forum users to vBulletin users all users were "online" at virutally the same time during the conversion process?

Web Crawlers like Google's also use multiple connections when indexing sites.

From memory, something went wrong with the server that day. There is no easy want tor reset that number without blowing away some of the other useful stats, so I never bothered.

The most users online at one time should really be about 135?

I agree with number 2. Several times I have gone for months without visiting the forums and My Girlfriend and I use GBPVR everyday without exception.
