When I had this problem I used mencoder to fix the recordings....I created a batch file that I kept on my desktop and then I just dragged the file from the folder to the batch file on the destop and it made a backup of it and re-encoded it.....

Here is tthe batch file that I created....

Code:
move %1 "%~dpn1_original.mpg"
"c:\program files\mplayer\mencoder.exe" -of mpeg -oac copy -ovc copy "%~dpn1_original.mpg" -o "%~dnp1.mpg"
move "%~dpn1_original.mpg" "E:\Mencoder\Originals\"

UJB,

That sounds more like what I am looking for. Thank you.

I don't won't to re-encode every recording, only if there is a problem.

Regards,

Are the quotes included in the lines added to the registry. I haven't messed with the registry very much. Can you give me a step by step to changing the registry and adding these lines/
Thanks!

Here is a Reg file you can use to enter that data into the registry.

Unzip the file to your desktop, then double click, it will then ask you if you want to merge the data into the registry. Click YES.

The file just has the registry changes mentioned in the first post by Sub. Before you merge the file you can view the contents by right clicking on the .reg file and selecting Edit. By doing this you will know exactly what is being added to your registry before you actually add it. You should always check Reg files like this before merging just to make sure they are safe.

I have both the PVR-150 and PVR -500. I had upgraded to the latest finalized drivers on the Hauppauge web site (version 24103 and the middleware upgrade). I did not have any issues until I upgraded to the GBPVR version 98.13. After the upgrade, I had noted that every recording has an interruption every 7-10 minutes. This was re-producible on another machine with playback on either VLC or windows media player.

After adding the registry switches decribed, this problem has resolved. Hopefully it will stay that way.

24108 are really the best drivers......I do want to note that I have had several timestamp issues arise since going to 98.13.

sub.....anything change in 98.13 that you can think of that may be linked to this?

Has anyone posted a description of the symptoms caused by this timestamp issue? A couple posts mentioned something about the player showing the duration of the file to be quite a bit less than the actual duration. Is that it?
