Actually read what I wrote again. I was recommending 60 seconds (since the DVB spec says that all the info will be transmitted in 60 seconds). It can be much less depending on how much info the broadcaster transmits - in daneos transport stream, I only required 25 seconds to get a complete set of data.

With it set to 60, if you do an empty EPG followed by an update EPG, approximately how much data are you missing? I get absolutely no gaps for a nearly a week. Daneo has test file also has no gaps for the first three or four days (after that may not be transmitted anyway). Mine is so complete I'd opt for the 'complete EPG reload' option.

If you've still got a significant number of gaps, I'm guessing you've still got something going wrong. If you're able to supply a 60 second transport stream file, I'm happy to look into it further.

Hi sub,

Excellent work -- that seems to have fixed the problem and I may even have less gaps than before -- thank you. I'm also noticing the issue with the German characters on some of the channels, but thats not very important.

Thanks!!!

Yeah, I'd like to look into this more. I'm on my 4th scan and I'm probably at about 90% complete. I'll download TSreader lite and have a play - are there any specific settings that I need to check to get you the right info?

If you have access to a web server, and are about to record me a one minute transport stream from a frequency with gaps, then I'm happy to download the file and take a look.

Hi Sub,

Just tried your patch, but it hasn't made any difference.
The ä, ö are "TM"
The ü is " "
The ß is "⇓"
But only on a few stations!
On another note, the DVB EPG is now showing much more information in the show description which is great.

Regards

Sorry, when I made the change I only built the debug version. The release version hadnt been rebuilt. Please try again now that I've rebuilt it. Remember to do an 'empty epg' first.

can anyone offer me a walkthrough for recording a TS with TSreader. I've got the lite version tuned in OK. Record Mux is unavailable in the free version, so I can record PID (which one?) or I can record program - but I need to set up a manual channel (help!).....
PS the one thing I have found is that it's showing EPG data for the current program OK, where there are gaps in my GBPVR data....

Hi sub,

The latest patch appears to have solved the problem -- I get the missing characters as they should be, I get long show descriptions, and I've even set my DVBEpgHarvest down to 25 seconds.

Thanks

I think the record mux option is not available in the free version of TSReader.

You can probably record the transport stream in GB-PVR. You'll need to first watch live tv for the channel you want to record, then close GB-PVR, start the config app and switch the preferred BDA mux to the 'transport stream option', then ok out of the config app. Start GB-PVR and schedule a one minute long recording. With any luck, this will result in a 100MB or so recording.

Which is good, since it means I'll be able to fix yours when you supply a transport stream file.
