I am "playing" with the PAL-mpegs, but i have some problems in creating back1 and back2.jpg. Have i Fuc... up the image-resizing (I have attached my dvdburn.bat)?

Everything else is working fine.....

try this one...
[PAL Only]
could you optionally send me a small pal clip that i could use for testing? [prefer 352x576, high compression]
would ease the building process, tho i still wouldn't be able to watch it..Smile
i think i'll look online for something..[samples]
EDIT: i found a clip on wintv cd and after a couple mods it seems to be working..Smile
i can even view on computer..Big Grin
so further testing will be possible, and i should be able to adjust the new version as well.....[you'll like it much better]
do you still use access db? or sqlite?
updates this zip with semi-working one..
the highlights still need to be adjusted for the size diff. but almost there..Smile
[it does still work tho..use arrows and enter to navigate]

I am almost there. There was not a texture.jpg in the showburner-lib. It was called texture.png !!!! I resized it to PAL and saved i as jpg.

Now it creates a background.jpg fine, but as you can see in the burnlog.txt it can't create/open the menu1.mpg ??

Another thing: When i am going to Add a show from the transcode-menu, it adds the show to the dvd-que, and the shuts down GBPVR. I can't see anything in the bat-file that could do that!

My install does that too...i see you're running the new version, which i am too. Ive added showburner to my uncles setup and his doesnt shut down gbpvr and he's using 98.08...maybe a pointer to something thats changed between versions?

Other than that - cheers for all the work you've put into this pBS. Just the thing when youve a 150GB recording drive that has only 8GB free space!!!Big Grin

Im at work at the mo but in my lunch break I'll post a quirk I found with my version of Nero which prevented Showburner from doing its stuff, just incase anyone else stumbles on the same error...

wow, can't think of anything that should do that...not even sure that's possible with a batch....? [shutting down gbpvr] only changes were the 'remove' last movie command...will have to double check that then...[also may b running out of environment space]

almost done with the installer but also as for the nero thing, i just got imgburn working so it will be the new replacemnt for nero as burn engine..Smile
it's only 600k and free!! and made by the guy who made dvdshrink so you know it's good...Smile
man was it hard to find a way to insert the profiles, with so many illegal characters in there..but working great now..
so now just have to tie it all together and integrate the new burner to solve all those other problems and it'll be good to go..Smile
i also figured out how to retrieve show details with the batch file alone, no gbpvrcli needed....so that'll make room for the new burner..

i think it might be cuz i use a double extension for the outgoing in that profile..
maybe it can't handle that...used to no prob....try making output extension just .burn instead of .burn.mpg
[it may be looking for that file to play]

Hi pBS

Now i have tried .burn .avi .mpg, it still shuts down the GBPVR. But in the GBPVR-log i can see it tries to call the mencod.exe:confused: That can't be right, can it?

Maybe it's the illegal call to mencod that shuts down GBPVR(is it new in 98.13 that it calls the Mencod in every transcoding) ?

This is from the log when i try to remove the burnlist:
C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\Third Party\Mencod.exe burndvd.bat remove "D:\Record\Græskar-DM i Frilandshaven\Græskar-DM i Frilandshaven_20061020_18201850.mpg"

yea, it uses mencode.exe to runt he batch files as i couldn't for the life of me get a batch to run from the '.exe' place in config... Smile
it's just a proxy kinda like the old fake ffmpeg, but it really there so you can kill the running process of the batch file when you hit 'stop' from transcode menus..Big Grin [just like a real executable]
killing the batch wouldn't kill the process it has run so this does..
try running the command manually with the batch file...just cut the beginning off that log entry..
if that works it must be a bug with either the mencode.exe or gbpvr..
worked for me last night...added a few with no probs..
the mencode.exe one is new for 98.8+ since now doesn't need fake ffmpeg..

try this line as i finally got a batch file to work.tho it kills a lot of the central functionality of having the variable in the batch file to set this stuff.....
you have to adjust it for your machine-the location of your cmd.exe["C:\WINDOWS\system32\cmd.exe"], and the path to your dvd-que file....[will work with default settings for que as is]
it just echo's the filename to the file and won't check to see if there's too much to fit on one dvd disc...so be carefull...[or use dvd-rw! Smile]
or optionally, edit the line to run the batch file with cmd="/c burndvd.bat add {SOURCE_FILE}"

Code:
<Conversion name="add to DVD Burn list" exe="C:\WINDOWS\system32\cmd.exe" cmd="/c echo {SOURCE_FILE}>>showburner\dvd-que" targetExtension=".new.mpg" />
you'll have to add it in there manually, but good thing is you can keep the other ones in there also..Smile [no real limit]
let me know if that changes anything..

Ugh... I forgot how much I hate batch files. Gimme a unix script, perl script or root canal anyday!

I found a few problems with the burndvd.bat file.

First, if the one and only file you try to burn is too big, the "set remlast" on line 182 never executes and the "find /v" that follows fails since remlast is empty. It's definitely not obvious what the failure is based on the error message.

Second, the nero command line at the end of the batch file has some issues. The Nero path is hardcoded, which if it was at the top of the batch file in a variable, someone might recognize they have an issue with it before running it and failing right at the end. Smile Also, the temp path is hardcoded on the nero command line instead of using the dvdtemp variable, and dvd drive letter, H, is hardcoded here too.

Finally, the Nero command line requires some changes for those of us that use Nero 6. The --iso_no_joliet command is --iso-no-joliet in 6. Sheesh... took me forever to figure that one out.

Thanks for all the work you've done putting this together.
