I just love the irony that this all started with the PVR 350 which Sub seems to now have a love-hate-hate relationship with.

I didnt think that North Carolina was that small!
Wellington is small, but the city council do like to come up with new ways of making you pay a lot for a parking space! I dont think I've seen a SMS coke machine. Sub: Where were these machines meant to be deployed?

They were concerned about the same issue for mobile gambling and other services they were planning at the same time, and decided to step back and think about it for a while... In later services like the parking stuff, they opted to make it pretty transparent that the user would be paying a service fee on top for the convenience of using their mobile for the purchase.

Up here in Norway we've had the SMS payable coke-machines for a few years now. Never used 'em myself, but they work pretty well far as I know :-)

Thanks again Sub. All of this backround is really interesting. Everything I know about New Zealand I learned from "Lord of the Rings" and "Worlds Fastest Indian" (I also seem to remember something on CNN about your Capitol losing electricity for weeks at a time).
I always picture sub in a small room with a fireplace sitting in front of a computer next to a little round window looking out a an emerald green slope dotted with sheep leading down to the sea. Keep up the good work! If it ever becomes more work than it's worth be sure to have a donation drive before throwing in the towel. I really think you could afford to be a little more aggresive in this area without turning anyone off.

Its a pretty nice view, but sorry, no sheep. My brother lives in Wanaka, which is real Lord of the Rings country, huge mountains, big scenes everywhere - though much of the LotR movies, and king kong etc, were made at studios here in Wellington. BTW, you're thinking of Auckland which did have problems with power for a couple of weeks a while back. Luckily no problems like that here.
