WindowsXP Pro
GBPVR 09813
AMD AthlonXP 2000+
ASRock K7VT2 AGP 4X
768MB DDR SDRAM
ATI (Sapphire) 9600 128MB
Hauppauge HVR1300 (only using DVB side)
60GB HDD
300GB HDD

I have (literally) tried everything to get rid of continuous stuttering in live TV which occurs using every combination of video renderer and decoders, and with the recommended versions of quartz.dll and THMpgMux.ax. I've trawled the forums looking for a solution to this and nothing has made the slightest difference. Is my PC just not up to the job? Can anyone see any obvious problem with this (admittedly aging) setup that would explain why I get such choppy live tv while being able to record and playback perfectly?

CPU usage with VMR9 is below 70% (Less and with smoother playback when OSD is showing)

Thanks
Tom

Reproduce the problem, then zip and attach the logs and I'll take a look.

Here's my logs after a couple of minutes of live tv. It's set to Custom but changing the renderer makes no difference to the stutter.

Thanks for looking into this

Can you try setting the following in config.xml, then try again. If its still having problem, zip and attach the logs again and I'll take another look.

<BDAEnableDvbSubtitles>false</BDAEnableDvbSubtitles>
<UseTeletextSubtitlesInLivePreview>false</UseTeletextSubtitlesInLivePreview>
<CaptureSubtitles>false</CaptureSubtitles>
<InternalSRTDisplay>false</InternalSRTDisplay>
<InternalDvbSubDisplay>false</InternalDvbSubDisplay>

Unfortunately, I already had those values set to false when I posted the logs (after reading it in another thread).

I can see in your logs above that it is doing this subtitle stuff, which is why I mentioned it.

I reinstalled gbpvr a few days ago. Before that I was getting a message written to the gbpvr.exe log two or three times a second regarding volume settings (I can't remember the details). Since I reinstalled I haven't been getting that message but I have been getting this 'No DVB Subtitle stream data available' message at a similar rate. Subtitles work fine if I turn them on.

Any of this relivent?

Cheers

I think want to try to get rid of the subtitle messages, by turning off all the subtitle settings, since these have the potential to cause stuttering. This is why I made my suggestion above.

And I assume its still stuttering?

Can you try to describe what the stutter looks like?
