WDM Recorder using Software Compression

I am unable to schedule recordings through the web interface. When I choose "Record this episode", I get "Recording Failed!" in red. However, I am able to successfully record within gbpvr. Attached is the log file, and in it you will see the warning:
WARNING [14] No available capture source found
For each time a web recording is attempted. I have copied the gbpvr/plugins directory to the gbpvr/web/plugins directory, but this did not have any effect. I cannot find any solution or similar problem in the forums, so I would appreciate any help.

You don't paste it anywhere, you select it for the video and audio encoder and as the muxer. In SickBoy's post above that's using the Avivo Transcoder.

The gbpvr/plugins files must go in the /gbpvr/web/bin directory, not the gbpvr/web/plugins directory.

I placed my PVR project in the backburner for a while, now I have a bit of free time, so I hope you could help me to make the SBT-TVFM card work on GB-PVR.

So far, I am able to see live TV, but, not record it.

I am attaching the "lastgraph"; I am a bit clueless on how its supposed to look like...
I am also attaching a copy of the GBPVRRecordingService.exe-3.log file which should have some hints as to where the config is failing.

Hello, I have a Mercury TV card and after i installed the WDM Software recorder. i was able to get LiveTV. but the only problem is that the video is scrambled & so is the audio. its like it didnt find the correct hertz for each channel..

any idea how i can fix this?

Hi people,

I posted yesterday that I was not able to record, but did see live tv. After that, I finally got somehow the recorder test to work and I was able to have GB-PVR reporting success at recording, yet, producing files 0 bytes long.

Now its all gone. I think it all started with my glorious idea of adding a filter (the microsoft mpeg encoder) manually to the graph. After that, graphedit does not refresh always as I change the configuration using the config utility.

I am attaching two log files; the first one (older log), when things were in better shape, and second one, shows the present situation. I notice that the newer log does not present lines with the 'build graph' instruction.

Is it possible to force GBPVR to use DxVA/VMR9/Hardware deinterlacing on a standard-def picture WITHOUT tweaking settings in an MPEG2 decoder? I'm not using a codec for standard-def; I'm talking about raw video from the live preview.

A bit of background:

I'm using GBPVR primarily as a high-def PVR, with the OnAir GT capture box used to grab ATSC over-the-air broadcasts in the United States. It works great for that. I'm getting standard-def TV via DirecTV DBS, and I already have a TiVo for that, so what I'm trying to do is set up a channel in GBPVR as a high-quality standard-def passthrough. I'm taking the standard-def video signal from the TiVo, routing it into the S-video input on the OnAir GT box, and setting up a separate capture source using the WDM software encoding plugin (with no encoders installed). So far so good. But I'd like the picture to be nicely scaled and deinterlaced.

So far it appears I have two unsatisfactory options:

(1) Use a deinterlacing directshow filter capable of handling raw video (and I wasn't happy with either Alparysoft or ffdshow for this); or

(2) Forgo deinterlacing entirely. Yuck.

In theory I should be able to get hardware deinterlacing applied via the VMR9 renderer, but I can't figure out how to do that. I am using Windows XP on an Athlon 64 x2 3800+ processor, with integrated GeForce 6150 graphics. That should be enough "grunt" to get the job done, and that graphics processor does (allegedly) support hardware deinterlacing.

Christ, this stuff has more black magic than a SCSI Raid. It's just started working. You can add the DVICO DVB-T Plus to the supported hardware, with the latest versions of both and the ATi encoder.

I strongly suggest thinking before using ATI Avivo Video Conterter

I'm 6 hours plus into fixing what it did to my system. Right now it appears it's done something to my system that won't allow the WDM driver for ATI's tuner to install, and I'm about to be faced with reinstalling XP from SCRATCH. At this point, it would have been easier than what I've gone through so far.

Anyway, installing that made my video even more choppy than before. I think I have a solution for those running ATI hardware, but until I can figure out how to get my system back to normal I won't know for sure.
