It would have saved me some time.
I decided to try out the client mode on my primary desktop machine. Downloaded and tried to install only to receive a series of error messages about being unable to register a number of items... blah, blah, blah. So I tried installing again, repairing, modifying, everything I could think of. It was only after I'd tried everything that it finally occurred to me: I didn't have .net 2.0 installed.
Might be worthwhile adding a check to the installation process.
