I spent the last hour trying different settings on my pc I’ve tried activating some services I have disabled and changing the network settings duplex ect. But have seen no improvement sound and picture still the same and returns to main MVP menu after about 30secs.

on the GBPVR server, hit control+shift+escape.
go to the processes tab.
watch to see if gbpvr.exe jumps in memory usage, also see if there are any other processes that jump in memory usage (sort by memory usage).
I forget what the doctor watson executable is named but you may see something like DW20.exe chewing up memory.
These results may help determine the cause of your problem.
Also, I wonder if there are issues with your capture card chipset and the Nforce chipset... might want to look into that.

Hi Azimuth,
I think the card compatibility is ok as GB-PVR works ok on my pc. The DW20.exe is interesting my fire wall has flashed up alerts about DW20.exe, I thought the process has something to do with Microsoft’s anti spy ware witch I use to have but have uninstalled ill check out the memory use as you suggested and let you know. I don’t know how DW20.exe would affect the MVP? I have tried what you surgest but nothing seams to jump in memory use (GB-PVR and recording services increase slightly) and no extra proscess apear!

I’ve checked the event log the only errors I had were DCOM and services control manager this error is showing because I had the COM+ and COM+ event services disabled. Theses should not affect the way the MVP works but ive started the services again and tested the MVP with no improvement. I think the problems could have some thing to do with the way the recording services are recording and or feeding the from live TV pictures but I am fairly new to this so I don’t have a clue exactly what the problem could be. The other thing it could be is a net work problem but ive tried lots of different settings with no improvement.
Could some sort of database problem cause thease issues I used the change database option to swap to s q light database a while ago?
